Eastwood Centre

Description

Delivered through a State Significant Development Application to DPHI, the Eastwood Centre redevelopment turns a key town centre site into a mixed-use precinct with retail, commercial and residential uses, set within a substantially upgraded public domain.

The landscape and public domain scheme came out of a series of collaborative workshops with SJB, Bangawarra and Henbon. It was refined through engagement with the City of Ryde Council and the State Design Review Panel, and both the panel and the Department responded positively to it.

Rowe St Mall is central to the design. The works strengthen connections to Eastwood Station and the surrounding community and create a pedestrian-friendly environment throughout. The result is a generous, well-considered public domain that gives the local community a far more significant place to gather, move through and enjoy.
