Sometimes it's the small things that matter most

Sometimes it’s the small things that matter most.
This incredibly sensory rooftop garden was created for a young family in Sydney’s Inner West, and it has quickly become the heart of their daily life.
Though modest in size, the garden is cozy, vibrant, and filled with diverse plantings designed around three key functions:
- Food
- Habitat
- Pollination
The thoughtful species selection supports all three functions in an engaging, interactive way, inviting the family to be an active part of the garden’s life, its evolution, and its ongoing success.

Projects like this mean a lot to our studio. In a city where attention often goes to large-scale precinct renewals and infrastructure demands, it’s these small, personal moments, like a family growing herbs on their rooftop, that remind us why we do what we do.
